A quick note: During our initial chat, you asked what I charged clients for the [xyz] projects that I do. $1500 was my flat fee for this service. You commented that you thought I could get more.
One of my best clients (who has been through this 3 times now) just sent me a signed contract for $2500 for a new project. Zero objections on his part unless you count him pointing it out and asking why before he signed.
Thank you for the comment. That increases my rate by 66% and the increase is all profit.

There you have it – a ‘surprisingly’ simple way to increase your fees: Just increase them.
A few important lessons:
1. More often than not, there is a simple answer to what you want. But simple doesn’t make it obvious or easy.
2. Human nature has us looking for the complicated, the exotic, the romantic. And so, funny enough, it’s only those who learn to keep things simple who actually get what they want.
3. “Simple” can be hard because it requires new ways of thinking. And changing your thought patterns is probably the hardest work any of us are called to do.
So what’s the fastest and most reliable way to change your way of thinking?
Get outside your own bubble. Get around people who are getting the results you want to be getting. Share your thinking with them. Listen to how they think in return.
