I don’t know if you’ve ever dabbled in magic.
As a kid I did. And it taught me a lot.
In the magic world, as in the entrepreneurial world, there are the majority who are looking for quick wins, shortcuts and effortless glory.
So they sell all kinds of tricks ‘out of the box.’
But there’s a big difference between a trick – and a performance.
You can go through the motions, follow the instruction exactly, and do the tricks. But will your audience be wowed?
Nope.
(We see that in the online ‘guru’ world all the time. One guru after another and they’re all the same. It gets tiring watching everyone follow the same templates, doesn’t it?)
The best tricks were not straight out of the box. The best tricks were the ones where you had to learn the skills.
If it was a card trick, you had to learn the sleights. The false shuffle. The bottom deal. The double deal. The force.
If it was coins or balls you had to learn the “French drop.” How to palm a coin. How to hold your hand as if you were holding a ball when you really weren’t.
You had to learn presentation. Misdirection. How to structure your act. How to build out your patter.
And so I read books. Books that taught me the basic skills. The techniques.
And I would practice. I’d stand in front of the mirror for hours, doing the same French Drop over and over and over again.
And I gave performances.
At first, they were childish and took an effort to sit through. (Thank you to my parents and siblings.)
Then they got a bit better. Some birthday parties and carnivals.
Then even a hotel performance together with another magician.
And probably at the peak of my ‘career’ as an amateur magician, I was doing table magic for adults when I was just 16.
It’s the same when you want to take your coaching or consulting business to that ‘next level.’
You’re going to have to learn some skills.
You’re going to have practice those skills.
And you’re going to have to go out and use the skills.
At first you’ll feel clumsy and your results will be slow. But over time, things will speed up and pick up.
Especially if you elect to join my Plenty of Clients Acceleration Program.
Because what we do with you in that program is simplify your learning curve. We cut out everything except for the critical 10% that will get you 90% of the way to where you want to be.
Learning magic is faster if you have someone who’s broken it down to a fast-track curiculum.
So is building your own steady, consistent, predictable flow of ideal clients.
We’ve done that.
