Well, I got dozens of replies to my recent email where I shared some hate mail from “Walter.”

I read and appreciated every one of your replies. (If you haven’t heard back from me yet, you will soon.)

But the email below, sent in by Robert Stover was something else…

3 Reasons I Hate Dov Gordon

So, against my better judgment I get on a webinar with Dov Gordon. I know it’s probably going to be a waste of time because I’ve been helping game changers grow businesses for 25 years. Seriously, what am I going to learn?

Reason #1 to Hate Dov:

Near the beginning of Dov’s webinar he uses a metaphor to explain why some professionals succeed and others fail. Why some tactics work for one person, not for another. It’s his “Helium Balloon” example. It is the single best explanation of why some succeed and others fail in business and marketing that I’ve EVER heard.

I hate him for that. I can’t get it out of my mind. It was easy to understand. It was dead-on the truth…And I didn’t think of it. I can’t even take credit for it. Because of Dov I will now live the rest of my life in jealousy.

He shared the secret sauce! How could he do that? I mean, how are other experts on business development and marketing of professional services going to make a living if he keeps explaining how to achieve success so simply and effectively?

He even showed why a lot of the things professionals are taught to grow their practices and businesses are a silly waste of time. Who’s Dov to turn upside down conventional wisdom — even if it is ineffective and a waste of time?

If he keeps this up, there are going to be a lot more people than me hating on him.

[NOTE from Dov: Alas, there’s a big gap between having knowledge about something and mastering it. My business, at least, serves people who want more than information – they want mastery. That’s why my clients are such exceptional people.]

Reason #3 to Hate Dov:

I hate him because there is nothing really to hate about him. He actually seems pleasant. He’s not arrogant like many others in the guru space. He shares freely his hard earned experience. He didn’t even close hard on his webinar. He offered great advice you can use. I mean, where are the dozen bonuses stacked on each other, multiple closes and takeaways?
