Project > Process > Leverage

When you set out to turn your expertise into a business, you’ve got to think about it in a very different way.

I remember reading “The E-Myth Revisited” by Michael Gerber. Maybe you read it as well.

His point, which made him famous, is that you’ve got to work ON your business, not just IN your business.

You’ve got to make your business systems dependent, not person dependent.

It’s an idea that sounds really good. You immediately grasp how true and right he is.

But when you start to implement it…

You can go a few years before you realize, “Umm, actually, I haven’t been doing that. The simple idea of ‘create systems’ isn’t so simple after all. And I’m going in circles.”

Gerber opened my eyes to the value of systems. A simple idea. But it only got me to simplicity on the near side of comlexity.

To master it and make it work for you, you need to get to “simplicity on the far side of complexity.”

In my Plenty of Clients Mastery Program, our clients are learning the Project > Process > Leverage approach.

Working backwards from what you want, you identify a small number of projects.

A project is an area for development. You create something that did not exist.

To turn your expertise into a thriving business you then turn that Project into a Process. Something repeatable. Whose steps are documented.

Once you’ve got a Process, you’re ready for Leverage.

Some of those processes you’ll be able to automate using software.

Others you’ll be able to delegate. And some you’ll still manage yourself – until you’ve tackled new projects and processes that free you further and give you even more leverage.

If you’re making progress in your business, but you can see how you’re also stagnating, we might be able to help you figure out what projects and processes you need to create Leverage.

Go schedule here and put yourself on my calendar for a free “Consistent Flow of Clients” strategy session.

Because the only ones who stay where they are – are those who think they’ll figure it out alone.
